From the Chairman

Wow! What a parade! Despite the nippy weather, The Village Bank Midlothian Day Parade was a success. Nothing was able to stop the thousands of people from one of Midlothian's great traditions. Midlothian's own Noah's Ark, clowns, floats, made their annual trek down Midlothian Turnpike. The Midlothian Foundation celebrated it's first official year of hosting the great tradition! To commemorate Midlothian being named as one the top 100 communities to live in, the Midlothian Foundation had announced representatives of each of the armed forces and Local Olympiad Queen Harrison would be grand marshals of the parade. Midlothian residents and guests enjoyed watching celebrities riding on floats and touching the hearts of children of all ages. The Parade traveled down Midlothian Turnpike along it's 16 year route Saturday morning, October 18 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The parade ended at Long & Foster in downtown Midlothian. Additional celebrities that joined in saluting Midlothian as the Home of the Brave:

  • Grand Marshal – Queen Harrison
  • County Administrator Jay Stegmaier
  • Supervisor Dan Gecker
  • Thierry G. Dupuis, Chief of police
  • Dennis Proffit, Sherriff
  • Interim Fire Chief, James E. Graham
